Seller's Note

1951BSA A7 Star Twin. 500cc Plunger Model. V5C. Good Condition. Ride Or Restore

For auction here is a 1951 BSA Star Twin. This machine has its V5C present and is on none transferable number. The bike is classed as historic in the logbook so will be tax and MOT exempt. The bike its self is fairly clean and tidy but not mint. It starts a runs good, lights work, charging well. I have ridden the bike and it pulls well, smooth gearbox and clutch etc. The bike looks to be an older restoration and is now getting patina again, so its not one you would be frightened of using. It has its original dealer plate on the rear rim who was Cyril Morgan of Caerphilly, any body remember him ?. The only fault with the machine at present is a ticking or rattle on the engine at revs. You can,t hear it at tick over, only at revs. It sounds like maybe cam followers, or a push rod catching, or at worst case a small end, but its not a bottom end rumble or anything like that. So, its something that needs looking into. Oil return and pressure is good, starts easy, revs fine, so I think its something minor, but needs finding. Viewing is welcome. 01246 411977 for an appointment. Colelction is preferred, although I can arrange for delivery within the mainland UK by courier for £100. Finally, if you bod you buy no tyre kicking excitement afterwards please.
