Seller's Note

Matchless AJS AMC G80s 1959 Transferable Number Classic Vintage Collector V5c

I bought this Matchless G80s a few months ago, off a local police officer who had owned it for many years, but, hadn't used it for approx. 12 years, see tax disc in pictures, he did start it up for me before I bought it, so I know it still runs okay, my idea was to relive my youth, I had one of these in my teens, but, I realise that now in my late 60's and having had major surgery, it's just too heavy for me so is now being sold with no reserve and will go to the highest bidder, The bike is a 1959 and has transferable registration number WFF 858 the engine fitted is earlier than '59 and for some reason it has an AJS timing cover fitted, also I have noted that the new engine number has not been entered into the V5c, also with the bike are three spare pistons and old V5, my name is entered into the new V5c, and a workshop manual for AMC models from '57 to '64. The bike although very presentable is not original, apart from the different engine it also has an alloy head, alloy wheels and guards, the previous owner told me that before he laid the bike up he had the magneto and dynamo rebuilt but there are no receipts to prove, because the bike hasn't been run for so long it will need a battery, servicing and checking over therefore it is being sold as a project. Thanks for looking please ask any questions or come to view if you wish. NO RESERVE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER
