Seller's Note

1962 BSA A50 ROYAL STAR GENUINE BARN FIND PROJECT RESTORE SPARES OR REPAIRS

BSA A50 Royal Star Spares or Repairs For Restoration This is a 10 day Spares or Repairs auction with a sensible reserve and no buy it now price. It is not advertised anywhere else and I will not stop the auction for any reason so you can bid with confidence that only the highest bidder will win the auction. I believe it's a 1962 model Mileage shows 18,000 but it's unlikely to be accurate. Engine and frame numbers don't match but they're not far apart. (Sorry to be vague, I'll post them in the next day or two). They both start A50 1--. Genuine barn find. No keys or V5. The tax disc on this BSA A50 is dated 1989 and I believe that it has been stored for the last 26 years. As you can see from the pictures I have cleaned off the cobwebs and the dust so that you can see what you're looking at and to be fair it's looking pretty good. The engine won't turn over so I had my technician take a look into the cylinders with a miniature camera. He said that it looks like there's a bit of corrosion on the cylinder walls so his best guess is that the rings have become attached to the cylinders so it will need a re-bore new pistons and rings but I'm sure you'd have done that anyway. The gears all select and the suspension and brakes seem fine. The frame looks straight and there's no sign of crash damage. Interestingly the registration "XCO" is a Plymouth prefix so it would indicate that the bike has been owned locally all it's life. Please study the pictures for best indication of condition ...
