Triumph 5TA, 500cc unit construction twin. Running condition.

Triumph 5TA, registered February 1966. Unit construction, 500cc, single carb. For sale on behalf of my father, who does not have an Ebay account. I have the V5, which is an older blue one (instead of red) and has been signed by the previous owner. Ok, let’s get the ‘bad’ stuff out the way first. Work that needs doing: Oil leak from gearbox outer cover.The brackets which hold the exhausts to the frame are not currently fitted, but I have recently found them.The spacers for the underside engine bolt are missing.Oil leak from gearbox output shaft (no need to remove gearbox to change the seal, but I did drain the gearbox oil before realising this). Clutch needs adjusting/setting-up properly – seems as if it’s dragging.Front brake works ok on bench, but seems very weak when pushing the bike.V5 is showing the bike as white, so will need a colour change notification when document is sent off. I have also noticed that the V5 is showing a 5TA prefixed engine, whereas the one in the bike is actually prefixed ‘TR5C’, which I believe is a better engine. As you can see from the photos she’s quite tidy and presentable – certainly good enough to ride ‘as is’ if you aren’t bothered about having a show-winning bike. A previous owner has had a go at pin-striping the petrol tank in gold, but they haven’t made a particularly good job of it.Home-made speedo bracket; again, someone has made a poor job of it and it would look much tidier from having the correct one.
