1952 Ariel KH500 Twin. V5C Trans Number. Original Good Runner Vintage Project
For auction here is barn find Ariel KH500 twin. This machine has its V5C present and is on an original transferable registration number, although I don,t know what that would be worth. It will also be MOT and tax exempt at this age. The bike its self is very scruffy and has not been restored. It starts easily and runs well without any undue noise or smoke. Good oil return. Its had a new exhaust system. Its lights up and runs around fine. I can,t see that its charging, but horn, brake light pilot lights etc all work as they should. The bike is very scruffy, but could probably be used as is. The clutch and gears are all alright as are the brakes. Its got its original mag and dynamo, original pre monoblock carb and on Ansty link plunger suspension. It also has its original Smiths chronometric speedo fitted. This is the model that only had this style of tank fitted for one or two seasons, with the oil guage in the tank top. Ariel KH500 twins are pretty rare, you see plenty of BSA or Triumph twins and even more Norton twins than Ariels, so this is a fairly rare little bike and is ideal to ride or restore. Tank top oil guage does not work simply because it is not connected, but wouldn,t take long to connect up. Viewing is welcome. 01246 411977 for an appointment.
