1962 AJS MODEL 31 650CC Almost completely original Cherished no. plate 70 ATP

1962 AJS Model 31 Deluxe. Almost completely original. Owned by same family since 1966. Never been in an accident and not modified. Comes with valuable cherished number 70 ATP which is transferable and currently on sale elsewhere for £3745 Less than 2,000 since professional engine rebuild by Chris Lucking AJS specialist. New battery. Runs well, looks good. Paintwork has been tidied up over the years but it has never been completely restored as such. MOT 24 November 2015. Mileage shown 29243, but MOTs would suggest that the speedometer was replaced in early 1970. Seat has been replaced but I have the original, which is still usable and more comfortable than the replacement! Some spares also included. History; Originally sold by George Hodges Ltd, dealers in Portsmouth, hence " TP " registration. I even once met the gentleman that sold it new. Purchased by my father from Harry Gill Motorcycles in Gosport in 1966. It had been stored for most of the previous 4 years and was as new. Used as family transport with a sidecar until 1973 when it passed to my Uncle who used it solo, mostly for short journeys around Gosport. Passed on to me in 1979, and I used it as everyday transport until about 1982 when I was working mostly abroad. From late1980's into early 2000's used only occasionally for vintage events, and hardly used since 2006. It's taken a long time to finally decide to sell but a move overseas has encouraged me to sell. Not much early paperwork unfortunately but I do have MOTs...
