BMW R1100RT for sale. Registered March 1997, on a 'P' plate. I've owned this bike for three years, and enjoyed riding it. New 12 months Mot, TAX until end of Sept 2014. I need to reduce my collection a bit, so she has to go ! Bought as a winter bike, it has all the usual RT refinements :- Full fairing, Lockable/removeable full luggage (all on ignition key), Electric adjustable screen, Heated grips, ABS, and adjustable seat height. The ABS light goes out as soon as you start riding, as it should. Screen operation is smooth, and heated grips work well. This has the rare SPOKE wheels fitted, not the more common cast ones, though these could probably use a refurb. Bike has basic DATATOOL alarm fitted. Clutch is smooth with no sign of slip, don't know whether it has ever been replaced. 5 speed gears are usual clunky BMW affair, with a slightly noisy second gear, very common fault on boxer engines of this age. Originally a Police bike, it would have been WHITE. It was re-sprayed BMW Sinus Blue metallic when it was civillianised. As a police bike it has a calibrated speedo and a few extra holes here and there. It would have been serviced regularly. Some of the previous owners before me have not been so attentive however, and it was not in such good shape when I bought it. There was unfortunately NO Service History with the bike. Lots of previous MoTs are present, and support the mileage, which is currently 57,266 miles. I have endeavoured to improve things over the last three years ...
